My last assignment

For this last assignment i choose an article called "Active Minorities Psychology" of Serge Moscovici.

During the last four decades, two social psychological theories have had tremendous influence on a generation of researchers: the theory of social representations and the theory of active minorities. One scholar, Serge Moscovici, has developed these two theories, but they each lived independently and they were seldom confronted one another. Both theories aim to develop a dynamic perspective in the analysis of social reality and devote themselves to the understanding of social change. They are both interested in conflict which takes place in society and which may allow a reflection on the motivations for action, decision-making and change. Specifically, he pose the question concerning the epistemological relationship between these two theories. In order to answer this question, he first present the most important aspects of each theory and then reflect on their epistemological relationships.
This article also presents a theoretical explanation of the dialectic between active minorities and majorities within a community based on our experience of psychosocial community practice. When assessing needs it is usual to detect contradictions between perceptions of problems by community members and the feelings they express about them. This gap establishes the differences between community needs as estimated by experts and those felt by the people. It also has a delaying and paralyzing effect for the participants. It is contended that the processes of naturalization and habituation are responsible for this phenomenon, their ideological nature leading to accept what is problematic as the way things are. Consciousness-raising and problematization are a way to overcome these contradictions, and through them, community organizations may become active minorities. However, contrary to what the study of social influence argues, this does not mean that the active minority always will move the majority, or vice versa; but there is a dialectic between them, in which power, understood as a relationship, plays a basic role. The notions of psychologization, denial, and conversion are analyzed to explain the tension produced and how it affects the perception of needs and the community's reaction to them.

Un chiste

Les dejo un chiste para hacer un poco más ameno el estudio:

Un día domingo, venía por la panamericana desde Los Vilos hacia Santiago y, como ya me ha pasado varias veces, mi pobre Fiat 600 quedo en pana. Me orillé en la berma a esperar que alguien me ayudara. Como a los 10 minutos aparece un Mercedes Benz SL 55 AMG color plata impresionante (que seguro venía de Puerto Velero o algo así) como a 190 km/h. Pasa frente a mi, frena y el tipo del Mercedes da marcha atrás y vuelve hasta el fitito. Ahí mismo se ofrece a remolcar mi pobre porquería y acepté enseguida, pero le pedi por favor que no corriera mucho, pues aparte de ser peligroso para mi Fiat y yo obviamente íbamos a ir a parar a la cresta.
Acordamos que le iba a hacer cambio de luces cada vez que el Mercedes estuviera yendo más rápido de lo aconsejado, y me diera miedo. Entonces, el Mercedes comenzó a remolcarme, y siempre que subia la velocidad, le hacía cambio de luces, a lo que el tipo del Mercedes amablemente respondía bajando al tiro la velocidad.
En eso por la izquierda aparece el medio Porsche 997 Turbo (seguro que tb de Puerto Velero) negro, unas llantas, un sonido viejo!, y empiza a torear al Mercedes. Éste no deja que lo pasen y engancha al toque: 120, 130, 150, 190, 210, 240, 260 km/h. Yo ya estaba desesperado y desfigurado, todo cagado encima, haciendo cambio de luces como enfermo, y los otros dos weones a la par.....y a RECAGARRRRR DE RAPIDO .........!!!!!!!!!
Por ahí, pasamos por un puesto de Carabineros, pero no vi ni las caras ni las patrullas ni nada. Lo unico que adjuntado al parte que me llegó, venía transcrita la conversación de la radio:
" Atención! Atención! Unidades :Dos hombres, uno en un Mercedes Gris Plata y otro en un Porsche Negro disputando una picada a más de 270 km/h en la autopista, y......... muchachos........ juro por mi vieja, por mis hijos y por mi pega:
ATRÁS DE ELLOS, PEGADO AL MERCEDES, UN FIAT 600 AMARILLO HACIÉNDOLES CAMBIO DE LUCES PA QUE LO DEJEN PASAR!!!!!"

Textos de Introduccion a las Cs Sociales

Hola a todos!!!
soy la Chika (CLaudia) ademas de saludar, les recuerdo e informo pa los acañaos que no fueron el jueves a clases, que en el mail de curso, hay dos textos de intro (en el mail de usuario juan) son los de marx y los de inmanuel, el que faltaba (mardones, creo _:S) quedo en la fotocopiadora de la facultad, junto al material de historia social.
na pus, saludos pa toos, desde esta lejana ciudad!!! (estoy en casa)

Ya están los materiales de Filosofía

Hola psico-mechones!
Junto con saludarlos les informo que ya están en nuestro mail, el material de Bacon (agradecimientos a la Cata Aravena, que gentilmente escaneó el texto), asi que el que no lo tenga, pueda descargarlo de allá. El texto lo pase a PowerPoint y está listo para llegar e imprimir. Próximamente me conseguiré el Acrobat y los textos que se puedan escanear los pasare a ese formato (pdf), para un mejor uso del material.
